DISILGOLD.COM CELEBRITY INTERVIEW WITH JAMIE FOXX OF THE SOLOIST- IN THEATERS- APRIL 24th

Jamie Foxx “The Soloist” Interview with Kam Williams Headline: Kam Goes Solo with Jamie Texas native Jamie Foxx was born Eric Marlon Bishop on December 13, 1967 and raised by his grandparents from the age of seven months following the failure of his parents’ marriage. Although he was a star athlete at Terrell High on both the school’s football and basketball teams, he majored in classical music and composition in at the U.S. International University in California.

The versatile actor/comedian/singer/musician/writer/producer/director got his start in showbiz in 1989 when he went on stage on a dare on open mic night and tried his hand at standup. After spending time on the comedy circuit, he joined Keenan Ivory Wayans, Jim Carrey, Damon Wayans and Tommy Davidson in the landmark Fox sketch comedy series “In Living Color,” creating some of the show’s funniest and most memorable moments.

In 1996, he launched his own series, “The Jamie Foxx Show,” which was one of the top-rated programs on the WB Network during its five-year run. Jamie not only starred on the series but also was the co-creator and executive producer, and directed several episodes. He made his big screen in Toys in 1992, followed by appearances in Booty Call and The Players Club. He received critical acclaim for his riveting work and in Any Given Sunday and as Bundini Brown in Ali, breakout roles which inexorably led to 2004, the Year of the Foxx, when he delivered a trio of powerful performances in Ray, Collateral and Redemption.

He won an Academy Award for his portrayal of the legendary Ray Charlesas well as the Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild (SAG), BAFTA and NAACP Image Awards. Jamie simultaneously garnered Oscar, Golden Globe, SAG Award, BAFTA Award, and Image Award nominations in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his work in Collateral. And he landed Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations and won an Image Award for his portrayal of condemned gang member-turned-Nobel Peace Prize nominee Stan “Tookie” Williams in Redemption.

That amazing feat marked the first time that a single actor has received three Golden Globe nominations and four SAG Award nominations in the same year. Foxx has since appeared in Dreamgirls, Miami Vice, Jarhead and The Kingdom, and will next star in the drama Law Abiding Citizen directed by F. Gary Gray. Besides his outstanding work in front of the camera, Jamie has also achieved a thriving career in music. His eagerly-anticipated J Records debut, “Unpredictable,” was nominated for eight Billboard Music Awards, three Grammy Awards, one Soul Train Music Award and two American Music Awards, for which he won Favorite Male Artist. And his second album, “Intuition,” was just released last December to rave reviews.

Here, he talks about his new movie, The Soloist, a true story in which he plays Nathaniel Ayers, a Juilliard-trained child prodigy, who ended up homeless after developing schizophrenia. In the film, Ayers is befriended by Steve Lopez (Robert Downey, Jr.), an L.A. Times reporter who hears him playing the violin in the park.

KW: Jamie, I loved The Soloist and I’m so honored to get this time with you.

JF: Thank you, bro.

KW: My first question is, did you get to meet Nathaniel Ayers on the streets in preparing to portray him?

JF: Yes I did. As a matter of fact, I snuck downtown with a little bit of a disguise and a security cat, and I just hung out right next to Nathaniel. He had no idea that I was watching him. I got a chance to see him speak to the world, and get excited, and be happy, and sad, and play his music. And I saw him preach. Watching that I was able to gather a lot of great information about who this guy was that I was about to play, without hearing anybody’s opinion of him, but just from my firsthand look at him. Later, I was formally introduced to him, and he was on his best behavior. He smiled because he gets it that they were going to do a movie about his life. And then you see him not get it, and wondering, “What’s going n here?” And then he’d swing back around and get it again. So, it was very interesting. And while all that was happening, I had a video camera on my phone that I used to record him the whole time. So, I came home, watched that footage, the footage I filmed when he wasn’t watching, and the footage I filmed when he was aware.

KW: How did you prepare for the role after that?

JF: It was a matter of putting him together. Losing the weight… getting the hair right… getting the makeup right… and going to that place that I have feared going to for a long time, that is, losing your mind.

KW: What made you afraid of that?

JF: As a child I always feared losing my mind. There was a guy in my neighborhood who always walked up and down the street talking to himself. I won’t say his name, but I would always go, “Ooh, that’s scary.” And then, when I was 18, I had a horrible experience when somebody slipped something into my drink. It was a college prank that really went bad, and I hallucinated for 11 months. The doctors said that sometimes people go and they never come back. I was lucky enough to get back, but the way I recovered was by playing music all the time, because I was in a music school. Isn’t it interesting that Nathaniel Anthony Ayers had a similar situation?

KW: Very.

JF: So, at one point while preparing for this movie I woke my manager at like three in the morning, saying, “I got it, I’m him, I know exactly what’s going on. Nathaniel says this, that and the other, because he feels this way and that way. I used to do the same thing when I was in college. I played music, and the reason we play music is so we can soothe ourselves. I’m him!”

KW: How did your manger respond?

JF: He goes, “Foxx, I’m on way over to your house, because this is a little strange.” And when he gets there, I’m telling him all these different things which to him sounded like I was losing my mind. But to me, it made perfect sense, and that’s who Nathaniel Anthony Ayers is. Everything that he’s doing makes perfect sense to him. That’s why when Steve Lopez says, “You need help,” Nathaniel responds, “No, you don’t get it. This is what it is. This is what makes me feel comfortable. This is not your mind. This is my mind.” So, there were a lot of different parallels going on.

KW: After seeing The Soloist, I spoke to the film’s director, Joe Wright, because I was upset that it hadn’t been released last fall during Oscar season like originally planned. It struck me as a cross of A Beautiful Mind and One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest. But I think you did a better job at conveying the feeling of insanity than either of those other pictures, which were both excellent, too.

JF: Thanks.

KW: Joe told me that you filmed on location on Skid Row and hired a lot of the homeless as extras. What was that like?

JF: It was interesting. I learned to have a different outlook on Skid Row. I arrived with my bravado, being an urban kid from the country, and thinking that there were people there out to get you. There’s gangbanging going on on Skid Row… people selling drugs… people on the come up… So, I went down there with an attitude like, “Yo, I’m going down here, but I’m watching my back.” But I quickly learned that that wasn’t what it was all about. They were mostly people who were really just trying to survive and to hold onto the little bit of human dignity they had left. I met actors down there, lawyers, and people who had been released too early from mental institutions that had turned their backs on them. People who had been living a couple of paychecks from being homeless, and then something bad happened, they lost everything, and now they don’t know how to get back. I learned a lot of lessons, so when I look at them now, I don’t think of them in the same way that I used to. I have to thank Joe Wright for that.

KW: It reminds me of how when I was watching the State of the Black Union recently, I saw former TV talk show host Iyanla Vanzant talking about recently becoming homeless. And she had been an attorney and a best-selling author.

JF: Yeah, it blows your mind, man, because you never know where you might be. That was another thing I said to my manager that night, “And this is what’s going to happen: I’m going to lose all my money. I’m going to lose this house, and I’m going to end up homeless.” And to me, it really felt like that could happen. And sometimes, in those situations, it really can.

KW: When you mentioned videotaping Nathaniel, it reminded me of a video I saw of you on the internet at the presidential inauguration where you were using your phone to tape a student from the Naval Academy, Chidiebere Kalu, singing acappella in his dress uniform.

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5CgQgDwL_k&feature=player_embedded

He actually happens to be a friend of my son, who’s producing some tracks with him. Were you really impressed with Kalu?

JF: Yes, he just text-messaged me. I let him know to have some patience. I’m trying to get it all together, so when I come to him it’s real legit. [Jamie starts singing the same song Kalu sings on youtube]. Whatever that song was, I called him on his answering machine, and said, “Young man, I’ve got some great ideas for you, I’m just trying to put it all together.” I think we could really do something special with him. When I listened to his music, I just didn’t think that was the way he should go. I think that he could stay clean. He could be a real beacon coming from the military, doing some great inspirational music that would also sell. I don’t want him to feel like he’s corny, because I know he’s got his thing going. But with some of the music I heard, I was like, “That’s cool,” but we need to find the right music for him and then capitalize on where he’s coming from. This video footage I have of him is just amazing!

KW: Is there any question no one has ever asked you, that you wish someone would?

JF: Yes, there’s a question. How come they don’t ask me about how great I play ping-pong?

KW: Okay, how great do you play ping-pong?

JF: I’m bad! I will challenge anybody. Don’t even think about it. Unless you’re left-handed and from China, you don’t have a chance.

KW: The Tasha Smith question: Are you ever afraid?

 JF: All the time.

KW: The Columbus Short question: Are you happy?

 JF: Yes!

KW: The Teri Emerson question: When was the last time you had a good belly laugh?

JF: Every day, man. [Chuckles] If you hang out with me, you’d see. I hang out with all comedians.

KW: The “Realtor to the Stars” Jimmy Bayan question: Where in L.A. do you live?

JF: I live on a farm outside of L.A., about an hour away. On a 40-acre avocado farm.

KW: Jimmy also wants to know, when did you think that an Oscar was attainable? When you left Texas? When you were on In Living Color?

JF: When we attained it. K

KW: The bookworm Troy Johnson question: What was the last book you read?

JF: To be honest, Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham.

http://www.amazon.com/GREEN-EGGS-HAM-Dr-Seuss/dp/B000GLWLBE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1240250958&sr=8-2

KW: The music maven Heather Covington question: What music are you listening to?

JF: Intuition. http://www.amazon.com/Intuition-Jamie-Foxx/dp/B001JQHT6W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1240251040&sr=1-1

KW: What has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome?

JF: Ooh… The biggest obstacle? The mental obstacle of thinking that just because I was African-American that I couldn’t have it all.

KW: The Rudy Lewis question: Who’s at the top of your hero list?

JF: Barack Obama.

KW: The Laz Alonso question: Is there anything your fans can do to help you?

JF: By always telling me if it’s good, bad, or all right.

KW: Reverend Florine Thompson asks, if someone produces is a movie about the life of President Obama would you consider playing him?

JF: [Answers doing an impressive Obama impersonation that sounds just like the President] If there’s any indication, that America is not the most incredible country in the world… [Chuckles] Yes I would.

KW: And the good Reverend had a follow-up, who would you like to see cast in the role of Michelle Obama?

JF: Hmm, who would it be? Halle Berry.

KW: Reverend Thompson also says grandmothers have played an exceptional role in the black experience, and that in your song, “I Wish You Were Here,” you pay tribute to and share about your grandmother. She asks what role did your grandmother play in your life and how did she influence your spirituality?

JF: She gave me everything. She gave me the tools to be who I am, from music to athletics to knowing how to be a gentleman. She did it all.

KW: Attorney Bernadette Beekman wants to know whether you still get royalties from Booty Call?

JF: [LOL] Yes, but they’re very small checks.

KW: Marianne Ilaw was wondering whether you would consider recording an old school R&B album updating hits from the Seventies.

JF: [Pauses to think about it] Umm…. No.

KW: Keith Kremer asks if you’re Ugly Girl character from In Living Color going to make a cameo appearance in one of your future movies?

 JF: Yes.

KW: Finally, aspiring scriptwriter Chris Carden says he’s got a great screenplay he wants you to read.

 JF: That’s okay.

KW: Well, thanks again for a great interview, Jamie and good luck with the film.

THE AFRICAN AMERICAN PAVILION AT BOOKEXPO BRINGS OUT AN ALLSTAR LINE UP OF GUESTS. COUNTDOWN TO MAY 29th! GET READY!

Folks are coming here to www.LiteraryDish.com and need to go over to www.Disilgold.com where we are now posting all photos in relation to our text. It saves time, stops thieves from stealing our pictures and publishing them on other blogs and in magazines. Furthermore, we want you to go over to www.disilgold.com where all the action is. Read the celeb profiles where all is updated. For this post, go to the BOOK EXPO link. My team is  updating as quickly as we can . If  these blogs shut down tomorrow, I still have www.disilgold.com and so just scroll the TOP STORY pics for the photos related to top stories.

Check out the flyer on the site tomorrow. It is awesome.  Click on to the BEA STORY 2009 coming soon. I chronicle happenings. If I get a visual of you at the BOOKEXPO, you will be featured. Pretty darn observant, so don’t mind me if I am aloof. Well aware. Been told by a lot of  people that I look distant. Don’t worry about that. I see you very clearly and everything you are doing while hosting. If you want to test me, just email me at Disilgold@aol.com and I’ll tell you exactly what you were doing at the BEA. I can read lips too.  That author who said, there goes that bitz Omarosa, you better not say mean thngs like that this year because I am going to put you on blast. Omarosa is a very nice person.

People just don’t understand what she’s been through and  were hatin.’ Look how Donald kicked off Tionne from the Apprentice because she volunteered to go to the board room and my boy, Brian Mcknight because he was a good captain and then poor Dennis who is now all exposed. Poor babies. Tionne, Dennis and Brian, please come out to the Book Expo. Brian can sing to us ladies anytime, right ladies….. )))(((CHUCKLING LIKE A DIVA)))(((( Tionne, I love your poetry book from year ago called THOUGHTS. You are a poet. Just keep writing books because your poetry is awesome. Forget these reality shows.

Okay, wrapping up here…. You’ll never guess who is coming out to the BEA and so if you got here through surfing the blogs and tags, take your literary loving self over to www.disilgold.com NINO from New Jack City is arriving!!!! I won’t mention that at all, okay maybe I will. Now come on actors and actresses, tell me you weren’t inspired by Westley Snipes in New Jack City and all of his movies. The boy is bad.  That woudl be  disrespectful to talk about his movies, but trust everyone is going to be  starstruck.  Westley is the bomb actor of all actors, Denzel, Lawrence, Laz,  and I would even add LL COOL J if he does some more movies, but he’s all into signing talent at www.boomdizzle.com.   He’s got a book called Platinum Workout sitting right here on my bookshelf and  I have no idea how to go about even asking him to come out. Folks keep requesting, but I am too chicken to request. After all when these celebs change their careers, you got to be mindful that they have moved on to new things.   We’ll see. RESPECT!

Finally, some of you have been asking how can you meet Pat Schroeder of the American Association of Publishers. I kid you not, she came out one year and everyone was trying to get picks with her and Marcella Smith of Barnes and Noble.  I don’t blame ya. They are true movers and shakers in the publishign industry. You also, asked me if Tony Rose is going to sign copies of his book, New Kids on The Block.  We’ll see. His book just took off. The ladies love New Kids on the Block all grown up and I didn’t realize this until I saw all of the hype in New York City for a past TRL show.  It felt like New Year’s Eve in Times Square. Now don’t go starting trouble and requesting for New Kids on the Block Members to come out like a reunion.  Just stop it. LOL.

All in all, I’m a movie buff head. Speaking of BUFF,  fly chicarette Buffy the Body is coming out fellows. The lady is an entrepreneur and just a role model for the  Biz ladies who want to know how to capitalize off of their assets in business. Buffie is a phenom and we all can’t wait for her to share her trials and tribulations.  She has a calendar sellign right through the roof at Triple Crown Publications. A lot of important folks will be nestled in the Africana American Pavilion including my darn self. HEHEHEHE…….. you know why I am laughing right?    And yes, I am shouting out folks because I know who everyone is and all of the projects.  These folks are a greater than great. Zane is going to be their fam. I have gotten the best advice from Zane. And if you don’t know who Carole Mackey is then you better GOOGLE SEARCH her.  George C. Fraser  and Tom Joyner are confirmed. I read George’s book CLICK, 3 times and look at www.disilgold.com. That’s the power of building business relationships.  My editor  of Literary Divas, Yvonne Rose, has a book coming out, so  I am atending her workshop. I am still in training. Yvonne is my hero. Finally, I am just hyped to meet Westley.  Everyone didn’t get SILVERLIGHT, BLURAY and HDTV 10 for nothing. Do the thing,  Westley. Bring it on.  This Zulu sci-fi project is just in time.  Moving onward.

And that’s your DAILY LITERARY DISH. And er EXTRA staff, you never had the Daily Literary Dish and now you have the New York Dish. You never had the HEATLIST and now you have the HOTLIST and you also, never had the God’s 24 Hour Makeover and now you have the Hollywood Makeover. Stop  chewing on Disilgold  media’s auzz and be original. You sound like a broken record with all this hoopla on the show. Much to do about nothing. You’re lucky that Shaun Robinson is on the show to add any class to that overrated gossip. Why don’t you come out to the Book Expo and support an event with substance.

Not watching you anymore until you do. I am tuning into the RADIO  to change up my life. Be right back to see whose on around 7-8pm that is worthwhile to listen to. Maybe Sirrius radio has a decent show and BET is next on my HEATLESS list. With a top show like 106 and Park, why not bring on authors to talk with youth and promote some darn gone literacy instead of all of these blinging as videos turning youth into gangs and ass runners.  Now I got to go ut a hip hop album and put on some tight jeans to stand out…. oh nevermind me fam… that is my daily muse…. and I’m not taking it back. Much love to BET and EXTRA. Keep up the good work!

Guess who is the highest paid female celebrity? Unscramble these letters – yonceBe

http://www.houseofdereon.com/

WOW! Heather texted the base with this long auzz message via several texts so we’re posting it as instructed….Heather is in her studio doing some kind of instructional video about Disilgold.com that she mentions she’s releasing by 12 midnight tonight. Oh, and you are probably wondering who are the members of DisilgoldSOUL staff. We are pretty mysterious and love it.

We know is it hard to believe that Beyonce’ almost made as much as  her hubby Jay Z, whose HIP HOP albums folks are now starting to realize are a work of art worth collecting so these stats maychange. For now, Beyonce’ steals the top spot with back to back albums that rule among the female R&B artists. You just can’t compare Beyonce lyrically and vocally to any female artist out there.  Her work is universal and sound timeless. How do you know this? The Kids know who Beyonce is and that’s what counts! Congrats to Beyonce.’ And it is true, we were told at the B-Day Bash years ago by her own team that she would pose for DisilgoldSOUL Magazine first before any of the other media got pics like ET, Insider, VH1 and MTV. She gave a black media girl a break and I haven’t stopped talking about this since. Beyonce’ not only posed once, but three times and got her copy of Literary Divas before we all headed inside the event at the 40/40 club. It just shows that celebrities are very conscious about suppporting up and coming media. Now look at Disilgold. And I can’t thank Beyonce’s team enough for helpingme out during my YGA Multi-Industry live award show with a ton of celebs. The security from her team really helped create a safe and professional event.  They even guarded me while doing a controversial signing of my poetry book, PerSOULnalities: Poems For Every Kind of Man which wound up with a man trying to attack me for my comments about some men.  The crazy guy took my book of poems and analytical essays very personal. I signed with photographer Bea Joyner who is the author of  Don’t Need No Soaps, My Life is Soap Enough. I had no idea she would go on to create celebrity photogalleries. My signed autograph and copy of Literary Divas is in her Hall of Fame Exhibit celebrating people of excellence among folks I adore like Susan L Taylor. As a result of that signing, I was asked to come back and sign with this guy called Dr. Ian Smith and I was like who is this doctor. I respectfully declined because I got a controversial book and just didn’t see the connection. A few months later, I found out who Dr. Ian Smith was. At the time he wrote The Blackbird Papers novel. So I am just shedding light on the history of Beyonce’ taking that pose for little DisilgoldSOUL magazine. Aw! I wish her 80 million more dollars. Post all of my texts. Thx.

www.Disilgold.com – 19 Reasons Why Founder of DisilgoldSOUL thinks Barack Obama Won Presidential Race.

Based on polls and surverys, here are 19 reasons why I beleive Barack Obama won the presidential election.

1.       Barack Obama exercised his right to vote. His vote made a difference like so many African Americans who have not voted for years, but came out to represent over 60 million votes beating McCain’s votes by almost ten million votes.  Every single vote counted!  People didn’t give in to intimidation or negativity.  Some folks died during this election process as victims of hate crime.  Others died hating.

The first thing I did was get down on my knees and pray for humanity to quell their hatred toward the results. I prayed there would be no riots or hate crimes. Then I somehow got my new kindergartens who have never been in school to write letters to Barack Obama for they are the first generation of youth to witness a black president to take office.

Some will argue that if we as Americans are to be agents of change than why not address Barack Obama as just  “president,” but even I know and any blind person can see he is a black man. He was always black. Any man who chants what do we want and are we fired up is a black man who knows his roots.  The only letter missing from Barack’s name to spell out black is “L” for love. The American people added this letter on November 4th.

2.       Barack Obama lead nearly a flawless campaign with advisors who were able to counteract every projected counter punch.  This strategizing has never been seen in the history of elections proving that running an election is no different than a teacher planning her day to teach children. When you plan for success you achieve your mission with flying colors.  It was unfortunate that one of his chief advisors died just a few days before election of a massive heart attack. America felt that heart attack.

3.        Bruce Springsteen’s endorsement made a huge difference in swaying swing voters. Bruce is America. He represents that  “white all American bred boy” who didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth. His performance as well as Jennifer Hudson’s for another event, just captured the nation.  Music brings the world together.  There were other artists like the Obama girl, and Christina Aguillera’s  plea for people to get out in vote. Some folks post election campaigning encouraged people to vote just a day or two before, but for Disilgold.com, we’ve had the message CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN on the site since the beginning of the year.

Many media entities were clearly irresponsible and only showed results in intervals before the election to gain rankings and jump on the bandwagon at the last minute instead of encouraging people to register . I personally got a few dozen people to register and it made a difference in New York.  New York rocked the vote!

4.      Right before the election, America suffered one of the worse stock market crashes in history since the Great Depression. This sense of despair led people to stray away from supporting the Bush era. Failed Bushonomics made folks not see Republican of Democrat, but change. Regardless, Bush will go down in history for inviting Barack Obama to the White House to ease his transition as a first black tenant,  and hand him the keys the day he steps into office.

5.      Barack Obama’s message of “Change We Can Believe In” and “Yes We Can” became a self-fulfilling prophecy as folks at the very last minute decided to go out and vote despite earlier exit polls that clearly showed McCain ahead earlier on. Palin did not help McCain lose the race. She actually got many supporters out that ordinarily would not have come out who simply did not want a black man in office. this is evident by the majority of southern states who voted for McCain. She will be back in 2012.

6.      Being that the race exceeded beyond 22 months, people from all races began to wake up and realize that there is a strong possibility that we may have the first African-American president in history.  The GOP TRUST anti-Obama/Biden ads added a feeling of disgust to voters who felt like those old-fashioned brow-beating techniques were a dirty last minute trick that should not be tolerated. It’s called the “Bamboozle Effect.” America expected an upset the day before, but prayer and people’s spiritual faith unified the country. Dr. Martin Luther King’s Dream lived on. His message CARRIED HOME on November 4, 2008. Dr. Martin Luther King said, ” When we get to the promise land!” and Barack Obama said, “I promise you!” The correlation snd torch bearing symbolism are all there.

7.       Barack Obama was by far one of the most eloquent, well dressed and fit presidential candidates since Robert F. Kennedy. He quickly became a Rock star and once a rock star  always a rock star. Rock stars cross color lines and transcend all cultural barriers.  Barack became universal. Even countries over seas were routing for him. His image is something like a phenom. People are obsessed with what goes on behind closed doors with Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.  Already, the world is eager to find out all about their first romantic dinner since winning the election as a team. However, I am sure that the Camelot era of the Kennedy’s will not be fabricated to take centerstage for there is much work to do.

8.      Barack Obama laid out his plans for change in front of America’s eyes. This was an important move.  He also, authored works that clearly defined his character such as in Dreams of My Father and The Audacity of Hope.  Some people talk the talk, but others walk the walk. Barack Obama is indeed a top organizer. Those skills will carry over well when he takes office.

9.       The Hip Hop Community was very instrumental in getting young people to Rock the Vote. They made getting involved with the voting process fashionable and hip and while many of those hip hoppers never showed up and several ballots were missing that were not turned in on time from voting drives, the Hip Hop community involvement created the necessary excitement for events and rallies to form to spread the word since rap is a universal form of music all cultures enjoy. Many continued props to Jay Z, Sean Combs, Nas, KRS 1 and even  50 Cent. All of their support toward their own charities and efforts were well noted although many entities failed to report their good deeds.

10.   MYSPACE  and several social networks exposed the importance of this election to future young voters. Many people turned their profiles into Barack Obama profiles which set off the hope factor into action in following pursuit of an old adage, “If you can think it, you can achieve it and if you can believe it, you can win it!” or did I make that one up to? Have to check my published works. It’s the only way to establish and fortify firsts without contest.

11.    The Latino  Black, White, Asian and Black community were unified in voting for Barack Obama. This was a beautiful moment in history and critical toward overturning swing states and even though states like Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia did not Rock the Vote.

12.   Barack led a 49 city to city tour which he poured millions into. Folks refused to let this great man down who invested in his supporters state by state, community by community and neighborhood by neighborhood and still looked great.  You could tell he was ready to lead this country and lose it all for America. A lot of media entities who suffered from set back effects of the writing strike were relieved and renewed.

13.    Barack led a fight against a great opponent. Anyone who serves in war is to be admired for bravery, loyalty to one’s country and endurance. I know he felt like Barack Obama will have plenty time to run again, but isn’t that setting up America for that double standard where circumstances prevail over what’s morally right? Barack Obama clearly led a better campaign.

14.   Oprah was very instrumental in silence through it all, but no one can forget the show she did allow Barack Obama to come before the elections. It helped America see who Barack Obama really was. Other media were very bi-partisan in that they were fair and presented both sides view points like CNN CBS, FOX, ABC news are all to be commended. I saw a lot of good in these stations and some fine journalist like Katie, Keith and even David. Does  anyone consider late night hosts journalists. I do! BET addressed the issue of getting out to vote and registering in time.   Sirrius Radio debates tuned in over 35 million listeners and I am sure were very instrumental.  Micahel Baisden showed a lot of support early on and reaches a nationally syndicated audience.  Saturday Night Live’s parody’s helped America get over the curiousity effect and America realized they were already tired of Palin.  The exploitation factor damaged her reputation. The image of her bobbing her head with hands tossed in the air seemed ill contrived and mocked the Hip Hop community. BARACK REMAINED professional at all times. His children looked stable and happy. This is key because a stable family means the president can run this country.

15.    Jesse Jackson’s major slip up eluded to the fact that Barack Obama doesn’t see black or white, but he sees blue from sky to ocean and that which surrounds America. Jeremiah  Wright said all of the things American opposing forces  would say anyway. And Tavis Smiley only reinforced key issues that would have been brought to light anyways. In other words,  what appeared like disciples of destruction toward Obama helped in a big way. And no one can forget Reverend Al Sharpton’s struggle with the Jena 6 incidents which reminded blacks just how critical it is to have representation in this increasingly racist world where the opposing few are still the majority. Where Barack Obama will not be able to address all tragic community issues, Jesse, Jeremiah, Barack, Al Sharpton  and journalists like Ed Gordon will.  Their legacy would have been forgotten had they not all spoke up in their own way with enough punch to fortify their placement in history. This effect is no different than Frederick Douglass,  W.E.B. Du Bois and Thurgood Marshall all having opposing opinions on the U.S.A.’s judiciary system. Without opposition there is no progress.

16.   No one can forget that Barack Obama made thousands of calls himself. If one person tells just one thousand people that they got a call from Barack Obama, the buzz gets around and it’s easier for polls to reflect supporters and project winners. The calls were from the heart and will leave behind a legacy to those who received those calls.

17.   Plenty of people gave out buttons and obtained paraphernalia to support the cause, but what I found the best tool was Barack Obama’s own YOUTUBE videos addressing every day people. This was instrumental. I also, commend events like the African American Pavilion at Book Expo which issues Barack Obama an award for Book fo the Year way before the election and announced he would be our next president. Motivation, recognition and support goes a long way in helping boost a candidates over all morale. Don’t think for a minute that even the most successful people are not affected by awards and honors.

18.   Finally, folks really want to know the exact marketing plan that took effect so I have summed it up here:  GOD!

You can print millions of marketing tools,  set up a site asking for donations, tour every city, attend every function commanding thousands in donations for one dinner plate, gain endorsements from supporters,  take on a tireless advertising campaigns, evade all viral markets,  gain a publicity team, volunteer callers, expose your plan or change and study the course of what great leaders have done, plus have a team of eyes to monitor any adversities, but with so many opposing forces, this time God intervened and made Barack Obama the chosen one.

19.   Even machines that suddenly broke couldn’t deter voters from waiting hours to vote. Responsible media like Jet Magazine alerted voters of the obstacles ahead and what to do while some folks pondered on whether or not to wear paraphernalia on Election day.

 20. Bonus: The literary community became an agent for change on millions of forums with hundreds to thousands of members where support for any one candidate can be lethal. America did not just Rock the Vote, the literally killed it! Folks had made up their mind they would tear down the voting system and rebuild it by withstanding any obstacles. The effect is somewhat bibical. In fact, read the bible and see all of the self-fulfilling correlations of this massive work to what happened on November 4, 2008. YOUNITY became the agent for CHANGE. It’s clearly in the bible.  Seek and ye’ shall find.

www.disilgold.com- Heather Covington’s Review of McCain’s Acceptance Speech of Defeat

McCain’s acceptance speech of defeat adequately expressed his sincere support of Barack Obama despite differences and evoked a deep profound respect that wasn’t expected like Barack Obama’s win. He gave praise to Barack Obama’s grandmother who died the day before the election. His speech seemed to quell a fiery race with dignity and integrity to be respected. He acknowledged the struggle of African American’s and his legacy will be remembered. Plain seemed to disappear with gale force minus a voice, but you could see tear-filled eyes behind the classic frames she made a stylish trend. There was a sad overtone, but I don’t doubt that he will be back to run again in 2012 as a fighter who won’t quit. His key emphasis on Barack Obama’s passing grandmother, the plight of Black Americans and the fact that Joe Biden was his fomer friend could be taken  many ways, but for the most part, John McCain will go down in history as a winner for evoking and encouraging Americans to get up and vote.

www.disilgold.com-Will Barack Obama Win Last Remaining 4 Undecided States?

According to recent exit polls if Senator McCain does not win last 4 key states, Barack Obama could win the candidacy for presidency of the United States. As we are reporting this, Barack Obama just won Ohio.   And it’s official, he just won New York and Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  He  currently has 194 electoral votes. It’s getting closer as I am typing this announcement.  Barack Obama’s votes are over the top. With Virginia, Florida and New Mexico remaining it’s not over yet. There are still big battle ground states left. 270 Electoral votes are needed and even if America is lit up red on the news, It’s all about the electoral votes. If Barack Obama wins, he will appear in Chicago in front of over 1 milllion people with anticipated victory just building and building. Many African-American  leaders like Andrew Young are currently present and filled with tears. History is being made for what was the longest presidential campaign race ever!  It’s a good thing for all people. Hear my live commentary on www.disilgold.com after poll finals. Remember, we don’t know yet if Barack Obama is clearly the winner. Brace yourself! Anything can happen, but folks are already saying if barack Obama wins, they are going to celebrate by being a being a better person. Oh my, New Mexico is BarakaBAMA land. Okay, got to go. Soooo excited. God bless all! Running to see the big win!

www.disilgold.com- America mourns the loss of Jennifer Hudson’s nephew, Julian King!

With much anticipation of Julian King’s safe return, tons of letters pouring out in sympathy and sincere condolences to Jennifer Hudson on MYSPACE from supporters, even Jennifer Hudson’s desperate plea with a 100,000 reward wasn’t enough for the assailants to return the articulate 7 year old who certaintly would have been able to name or describe his assailants.

The heartless  and armed criminals killed Jennifer Hudson’s mother and nephew. For hours neighbors had not reported the shootings because they are so use to random gunfire in the city plagued as the murder capital city of America with over 500 murders to date.

By the next day, everyone’s fears were confirmed when the remains of a  7 year child in a white truck without a note, reason or any sign of extortion was indeed the lifeless body of Julian King.  Unanswered questions leave Chicagoans perplexed, but media has linked the possible perpetrators  to a domestic dispute. It’s unfortunate Jennifer had not been able to  remove her entire family from the elements.  Shes just evolving. Her willingness to give up more money than your average Hollywood star in support of their family shows her heart. People downloaded her songs from her website in record numbers and to a tune of almost 1 million if these figures have not already surpassed this rate.

People think their homes are safe with locked doors and now the world sees that any door can be busted down and infiltrated by murderers with intent to kill. People now realize how tough Chicago (The Windy City) is and the town Barack Obama tiredlessly risked his life to be a community organizer.

This incident could have been prevented with noticeable camera survelliance neighborhood watch and neighborhood network emergency buttons linked to emergency police support. Why not have citizens of Chicago set of a neighborhood alarm so all eyes can be on patrol when intruders enter with intent to murder, rob and commit crimes.
Community crime is beginning a nationwide epidemic an dhitting everyone’s home. Who’s next. Jennifer Hudson reached out the world with her rendition of the Star Bangled Banner and now she is this countries literal SPOTLIGHT on how real crime is. Her travesty is evoking empathy for the struggle of people in inner ciities which is not just a cities problem, but everyone’s problem.  Had Jennifer been in that household during the murders she could have been killed and we would have lost another angel. Visit Jennifer Hudson’s spotlight on the www.disilgold.com for her candid interview before this travesty. One thing is for sure, Jennifer Hudson is supported by many and is here for a reason through all pain and suffering and sadness. Her journey is not over and just begun.

www.Disilgold.com-October 26, 2008- Jet Magazine Current November Issue Exposes over 10 Voting Poll Scandals Voters Should Beware!- IMPORTANT! READ NOW!

If you remember last year when Disilgold founder, Heather Covington,  was told at her local voting center during the Democratic vice presidential elections by a diehard Hillary fan that her name wasn’t registered, and not until upon complaining, making phone calls on the site, taking pictures of volunteers, getting statements from witnesses, garnering a face off with site proctor and immediately proceeding to call the local city council, assemblyman, press and newspapers for a major conference was her name said to be misplaced at another table.  This alarmed the founder to make what could have been an attempt to turn away a black voter a success.

Disilgold wanted to suggest a responsible publication that actually gives you the 411 on how racist or one-sided voting sites turn black voters away and presumed to be Democratic supporters. JET MAGAZINE, October Issue warns voters in article entitled, VOTER BEWARE to not be intimidated by anyone videotaping you, armed police officers at site, flyers that boast restrictions, fewer voting machines, or any demands for proof that you can’t vote or if your current mortgage has defaulted, ecetera.

Other  claims like you’ll be turned away for wearing buttons, t-shirts and paraphernelia were reported as NOT TRUE giving black voters the go ahead and a false sense of security to wear paraphernelia. This conspiracy was proposed online through a viral marketing scam with leading community people’s names attached  and distributed to niche markets as part of a conspiracy. The idea was to dupe black voters who believed they had  found out that a chain email was indeed bogus as reported by a highly reliable news source reporting wrong news that it was indeed a scam, but quite possibly true. It’s that good ‘ole psychology where you yell a child to not touch a hot stove and so they go ahead and touch it.

However, it is true, some counties have restrictions and label any kind of paraphernelia as electioneering and so it is advised to not get caught in the ” forcible scuff back” by authorities which many local communities are predicting will occur on top of violence and arrests causing a site to be closed down and voters to request absentee ballots.

Other major scams include  DUMB ASS MEDIA BUYING INTO motivational speakers from bureaus as fillers for their shows who seem to represent the Democrats, but are anti Democrats telling folks in media  that they should or should not vote for specific amendments.  Voters should always read the amendment clauses in entirety because their placement in voting booths may differ  and so a YES, meant to represent a NO can superceed a No meant to represent a YES. BE CAREFUL! Don’t get duped by duped media. Remember that most media heads are controlled by someone else at the top level.

New voters can also be denied absentee ballots. This happens when a resident is away at school perhaps and so, their address change is presumed to not be a local one because they do not reside at their home.  Much of this information is regurgitated from commonsense of the people, but it nice to see it verified in a print publication that can be taken into polls to counteract any voting obstacles because the cover f of the November Jet Issue eatures Toni Braxton and no mention of the Obamas on it. SMART INDEED and just in case someone thinks you are stupid at the polls. It is predicted that millions of blacks and Latinos will be challenged at the polls. Don’t be fooled by Latinos reported as siding with the Republicans. Many are voting for Barack Obama and realizing they have been used as lighter skin African American pawns to set their own identity standards against the grade, but indeed when it comes to seeking jobs, Latino brothers and sisters are being denied as well.  It’s a clever decoy of unity!

Finally, if upon trying to park you find out that mirrors or cars within the vicinity of your local voting polls have been tampered with or hear mention of a gang in the neighborhood or all about a false story of a woman claiming that a gang marked her face with the letter B upon wearing an Obama shirt, call your local precinct for protection. By right, a patrol car is supposed to monitor local polling centers within a certain radius immediately when complaints are rendered.

www.disilgold.com- October 26,2008- NBA Consultant Isiah Thomas Found Commatose on Overdose

NBA Consultant Isiah Thomas, former Knicks player and NBA Knick’s coach, now demoted to advisor after a failing season and 11.3 million lawsuit fulfilled due to verbal  sexual harrasment charges was reported earlier as a victim of drug overdose. He was admitted to the hospital, but released on the same day.

Apparently, he took 4 or more prescribed sleeping pills too many and possibly didn’t adhere to the dosage recommendation. It is not apparent at this point if he purposely  took an over dosage to committ suicide or the overdosage of sleeping pills was simply a mistake.

The media is being sympathetic to the former Knick’s manager who was jeered off the courts  as the person responsible for successive losses for the team prior to his dismissal.  His arrogant statement on air denying any wrong doing to the lady he referred to as “That lady” immediately lost sympathy  and compassion from most  African-American women beyond repair and for the most part he has remained unlikeable.

However, no one really wished him bad enough to take his life. No one has forgotten how instrumental he was as a player on the Knicks Team representing petite players. He broke barriers and showed that height really didn’t matter. However, his insecurities may have cost him his stellar manager career built on top of what is perceived as arrogance. Add a sexual harrassment charge and even a good king is brought down.

Even if he did the unthinkable, most women’s reflections about his character would not change and therefore, to do so would just garner him the attention only as another added celebrity to the obituary statistic files who took his life in disgrace and so he might as well live his life and try to just continue to do good things from the heart. Success doesn’t always have to mean you are liked.

In fact,  no one cares about cop outs and if he did attempt the unthinkable, he is  not a role model to be respected on any NBA level.  Kids hearing about this will get the wrong message if indeed Isiah did attempt suicide. A statement to the public is owed and asap!

JUST IN: Isiah Thomas has been reported mentioning that the person was not him, but he did have a family problem. Bizarre indeed. How do you get 2 men submitted to hospital for same drug overdose report and both 47 years old. If Isiah wants to run with this recent controversy he is bound to make millions granting a story to the top bidder, but who’s buying?

www.disilgold.com- October 26,2008- Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson Mother and Brother Presumably Found Murdered

At 3:00pm in Chicago’s southside the mother and brother of  Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson, best known for supporting actress role in movie Dreamgirls and who currently has been receiving meteoric attention for her current “Spotlight” single,  were both found dead in a home said to be owned by parental victim due to gun shot wounds to the head and body.

Due to uncertainty of identity and the reports of a missing 7 year child, the actress who received word of the travesty immediately took route to return to her mother’s home.  The music industry, fans and media are in shock over circumstances which look to be the result of possible domestic violence, but already people are speculating that there may be foul play evolving around recent anticipated success of Jennifer Hudson’s new self-entitled album and what appeared to be an abrupt dimissal of a relationship followed by a new relationship and proposed engagement to a candidate seen on New York named Punk, but this is insane.

Others speculate possible monetary disputes.  It is too soon to speculate, but a notion must come to light  immediately  so that  anyone who knows anything can help find a missing child who’s life may be in jeopardy.

JUST IN: A suspect has been found, but the child who’s name is Julian King is still missing.

An Angel has Lost an Angel!- Sadness Today! Sending message from Tonya Blount. Dedicating MAMA from Boys to Men!

For everything there is a season, and a time
to every purpose under the heaven.  A time to be born, and a time to die….   Eccelesiastes 3:1

My mother–Bertha Vaughn, my best friend, my confidant and my prayer partner departed this earthly life, Tuesday morning, October 14.  But her beautiful spirit lives on to be with her Heavenly Father.

Her last words to me were “You’re going to be okay.”  I am asking you all to continue to pray for me and my family–to cover me in prayer during this time of bereavement that God continues to strengthen me and give me peace in my season of mourning.

My mother was my inspiration and greatest support for my ministry. From the time I was born, she had spoken God’s divine purpose for me.  I am grateful and thankful that she lived to see the beginning works of God through her prophetic spoken words.

Her inner beauty matched her outer beauty…She was especially proud of her Native American and African American heritage.  She was 61 years young and “Mother of her church,” prayer warrior, devoted mother, loved grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and faithful friend.

Senator Biden vs Palin- Who won the Vice Presidential Debate

Senator Biden won the Vice Presidential Debate 3 fold tonight by 1. backing Barack Obama with clear concise facts that were much clearer than both Presidential candidates 2. connecting with the middle class very effectively and 3. remaining sensitive to his opponent’s personal struggles by reflecting on his own struggles as a once single parent upon his former wife and child being killed in a car accident.  All points were well received by Americans as sincere, factual and supportive of America.

Biden further emphasized that he did not rise to the top with a silver spoon in his mouth. Biden acquired a loan to acquire education and a modest home. He was humbled by his past and admitted he is now  well off, but he has walked in middle class America’s shoes. This was a very important reflection as well as his mention of efforts to pass bills that would place more cops on streets and not just joy riding in their cars with doughnuts and coffee, no disrespect, but crime does not happen in police cars. It happens in the streets.

Furthermore, Biden didn’t mock the Americans by purposely talking at them with that “GOOD SPEECH” mode.  He talked with Americans. He addressed the moderator by her name. Palin addressed the moderator as a “HER” which wasn’t very sisterly, nor respectful to quality media and my opinion racially charged. She didn’t even mention Biden’s name when addressing him and all of her comments were very sinical, mean-spirited and sarcastic. She seemed bitter and angry under the exterior and lacked grace, honesty, trust and dignity. You can’t take her face as a sincere and honest resource. Every remark was undercutting and below the belt.

Biden avoided terminologies like “Maverick” which divide people and mock patriotism. Something is wring if a member of a party is against its own party and you have to ask why? Is Senator McCain playing role of the underdog making a comeback. Does McCain have unfinished business and disdain for getting caught and wounded in war to the point he talks about wounds that should be sacred and thus, never mentioned if you really went to war to serve your country? This rule applies to any civilian on a job. What happens at the job is supposed to stay on the job, but McCain uses his wounds like a trophy and very much how Palin kills God’s creatures for sport to exercise her right to bear arms and play war games on innocent animals called God’s creatures. Her ideals are overshadowed and influenced by her meat butcher packing husband instead of her own. Palin is against abortion, but yet pro killing God’s innocent creatures, and so why did Michael Vick go to jail for destroying wounded pet pit bulls who obviously would suffer more after a game fight. It seems like immorality superceds morality.

Unlike Palin’s Pop Shot, Biden did not “Surrender America’s white flag” by emphasizing Palin’s points that are interest based and funded by the wealthy with vested image in controlling countries over seas and evoking fear in America waged against wars the average 5th grader does not even understand as trillions of dollars go out to various interests every day overseas.

Palin stresses that we should not pull out of countries that may be able to make nuclear weapons when these countries have already made nuclear weapons being that their land has been evaded. It makes sense as any other country like America that also, has nuclear weapons. Are we too say that other countries are less qualified to bear arms to protect their country and keep thieves out like the Native Americans who only had bows and arrows and if they had nuclear weapons America would not be here? Who is right? Who is wrong? Who’s war is it? What are we protecting? And Why?  All people around the world are people, but yet Palin wants to instill the same fear mode of addressing people from other countries as the enemy.  Are their kids any less substantial than American kids. Why the double standard and hypocrisy? Are we repeating man’s same mistakes and history spelled out in wars among people in the story of the bible.

Palin took a rod and speared Barack without his presence by using words like “baramoter” which have connotations of Baracks’ name . This method of ideology would get anyone to spew forth harsh words, but each time Palin spoke, Biden moved on which shows he isn’t petty and interrogative. He focuses on facts and is a great listener. He smiles with sincerity.

On the otherhand, Palin used her family as a security blanket to effortlessy appeal to parents who may not realize there is a huge difference and moral responsibility from taking care of a child with Down Syndrome from dealing with terrorists overseas and possibly in our country.

She looked detached from her own child and not once did she look at her child. She patted her child’s back very hard. She was cold and almost like an animal hunter who shoots innocent animals in vain and for sport and doesn’t apologize to put it graphically. There was clearly no love bond. It’s almost as if she is prepared to put her child’ life in the hands of family and her unemployed husband who fails to represent a strong man as he goes around on  a ferris wheel for “Sport” and cameras with no baby seat. That was dangerous and God knows how haphazardly Palin will handle America’s problems. What woan would put the presidency of the United States before efficiently taking care of her child with special needs who was exposed to loud noise, an overwhelming volume of voices and traumatized to complete stillness she had to be subjected to by the hands of her selfish mom. Some things are just uncalled for. There is nothing like a mother’s love, and especially for a child with Down’s syndrome.

Palin is selfish for neglecting her child to run for Vice Presidency. Is it the job she’s interested in or the money? She wasn’t even a hopeful until days before John McCain stated his vice-presidential candidate. McCain new that by exploiting an attractive woman he could win over gullible folks. Palin repeated the same things,  added a lot of rhetoric and talked too much about herself and fear. Do we want America’s children to be introduced into their generation with fear? And who really took advantage of Americans tonight? It is clear that anyone who tells lies is on a bridge to no where. Using one’s status as a mother with  a child with special needs who plays hockey and shoots animals for sport and believes in stealing women’s moral rights in this country called  AMERICA  and utilizes bad grammar with words like doggonit is really taking advantage of every woman’s intelligence who refuse to be represented by a sinical woman so she seems,  but remember, like attracts like and it will be a test for America to reveal its true ignorance at the polls.  Palin isn’t patriotic. Palin wants to be a rock star and make more money! Ask her would she take on the job without a paycheck and I guarantee you that she would not be able to tell her husband to go back to being a meat butcher. www.disilgold.com.

ASk HEATHER: Was the Stand Up 2 Cancer Televised Event Effective in Helping Cancer Prevention Testing?

“Fashion Rocks somehow gathered 13 of the most talented singers to perform a song produced by LA Reid and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds called Just Stand Up.

Performers in the line up included  Keyshia Cole, Leona Lewis. Fergie, Ciara, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J Blige, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield and Nicole Scherzinger at Conde Nast Media Group’s Fifth Annual Fashion Rocks at Radio City Music Hall on September 5, 2008 in New York City.

The song was created to help women and men  obtain preventative testing via breast and prostrate exams. While the perfomances were entertaining and stimulated interest among tv watchers with Beyonce’ evoking laughter with an Etta James look-a-like wig  which was bizarre and distracted from the effectiveness of the song accompanied by very weak vocals among all of the ladies  surprisingly and except for Keyshia Cole, the most effective part of the show was when actors like Halle Berry and Forest Whitaker stepped into the shoes of Cancer victims and survivors so America could not only empathize with the plight, but make a donation to the cause. 1 out of 6 men will be diagnosed with prostrate cancer. I noticed Shemar Moore on the phone lines, but he would have been more effective in reaching Black and Latino men known to avoid the prostrate test than the laughable skit from a Friend’s sitcom star actor pulling down his pants to evoke laughter and embarrassment.

Other than a well-planned event that delivered with a unified message, I would like to see each of the celebrity singers share their personal stories upon acquiring a breast exam. I know I endured the test way earlier than recommended and if I can help save one life by sharing my experience than it’s worth it!

Over all, a breast examination requires lifting one side of your arm at a time and feeling around the breast to feel for unusual lumps among breast tissue and natural contours that come with natural breasts. Testing daily won’t help you notice subtle changes as examining your breasts on a weekly basis where lumps are more noticeable! If you detect a lump, you should acquire a breast examination. Your doctor will recommend you for a mammagraphy and ultrasound, but both are susceptible to human error and why it is critical for you to follow-up.

Five of the main causes of breast cancer are the mammography test itself due to radiation exposure, build up of estrogen or hormones and why you should pump your ducts daily by lifting your arm and squeezing yoru underarms to stimulate the lymphatic system and of course, tight bras are a culprit because they stop circulation. There is also, speculation that anti-perspirant deoderants block natural expiration and can cause build up of toxins. A lack of exercise, ample rest with stress can also induce bodily toxins and finally improper nutrition. Some people cook all of their food and kill off the enzymes and nutrients in veggies that your body needs to fight cancer building toxins.

Cancer is not a  disease that should be brushed off as other people’s diesease. Anyone can acquire it and  should be taken seriously. Prevention doesn’t begin or end with a concert. Encourage a friend or family member to take care of themselves least you keep a friend and family member around much longer. The steps you take to live are worth it because when you are gone, you are gone! Stop everything and do it for you!

ASK HEATHER- How does DisilgoldSOUL Magazine feel about Michelle Obama’s Speech?-

ASK HEATHER- How does DisilgoldSOUL Magazine feel about Michelle Obama's Speech? Thank you for your question. We felt it was the most poignant speech of her career, and Lloyd Williams sums up America's sentiments the best. Check out his latest article.

Michelle Obama Addresses Convention:

Heartfelt Speech Turns Undecided’s Fears into Tears

            by Lloyd Williams

“I know firsthand… that the American Dream endures… That is why I love this country.” – Michelle Obama, August 25, 2008

On February 18th of this year, Michelle Obama said at a rally in Milwaukee that “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.” Ever since, that quote has haunted her, as the question of her patriotism has remained the subject of speculation by everyone from right-wing pundits and bloggers to the New Yorker Magazine which put a caricature of her on the cover as a wild-eyed, wilder-haired, machine gun-wielding radical in combat fatigues.

Fortunately, on the opening night of the Democratic Convention, Michelle got a national platform to prove all her detractors wrong. And she made the most of that opportunity, passionately delivering a heartfelt speech in which she credited her sacrificing, hard-working parents with her success for having instilled her with traditional Puritanical values.

The spirited 20-minute address, frequently interrupted by applause, deliberately wound its way from her humble roots to her becoming a lawyer and returning to Chicago where she’s remained committed to social causes even after marrying Barack and starting a family. The ostensible aim of these undoubtedly carefully-crafted remarks was to position herself in the mainstream in the eyes of Middle America as opposed to on the lunatic fringe.

Her words undoubtedly resonated with blacks as a recognizable story of sacrifice and struggle en route to overcoming the odds. More importantly, via the use of catchphrases like “I love this country” and God bless America,” she probably reached plenty of skeptics and undecideds still sitting on the fence as she related how very grateful she is to have achieved the American Dream.

At the conclusion, the Obamas’ adorable little girls, Natasha and Malia Ann, joining mommy onstage to wave to daddy in Missouri served as the perfect icing on the proverbial cake. Judging by the uniformly-positive, often teary-eyed response from even some former detractors interviewed after the airing, it’s safe to say that Michelle has finally managed to put the loyalty controversy behind her once and for all.

Perhaps the campaign will now finally be allowed to focus on the substantive issues. Afterall, we do still have two wars, runaway inflation, mounting unemployment figures, a sinking dollar, a banking crisis, global warming, the housing market collapse, outsourcing, and a host of other worries to worry about.

www.LiteraryDish.com LisaRaye Tribute: In a Time of Crisis the Diva Will Handle Herself like an American Queen and Not Succumb to Paparazzi!

LisaRaye and Michael Misick were madly in love and inseparable, but upon her questioning the rape allegations it seems the truth came out and her reaction angered Michael who may have believed because of his power no woman would file charges against his advances which more than likely was received amicably, but with women these days looking for a goldmine, one decided to take her relationship with the Misick and turn it into rape allegations. It could be a legit case as well. I am not taking any sides.

Dubbed as “The Lady Who Defies Negativity” through her poetry and journalism,  her  latest titles are currently available through direct distribution via www.Disilgoldbooks.com and online bookstores. Shockingly, but as expected, the founder’s urban book title, Tekila Nika; The Forbidden Bronx Video Diary Tales by Babe Charisse Worthington is gaining popularity and sales on the mainstream and expected to exceed sales of all Disilgold titles combined of which she is already utilizing to give back.  Recently, The founder of Disilgold cut a rap song, “I’M GIVING BACK” all the craze among young listeners and her fan club is growing as she gets ready to enter the children’s book market with 50 new children’s books.

However, the founder who is busy at work sorting and making final decisions for nominees in various categories along with her committed staff has not left the adult market. A sequel is expected entitled, The Video Diaries: The Forbidden Literary Celebrity Tales. Heather Covington is expected on 2010 and the author wishes to entertain that just because she writes about urban grime, grit, murder, crime and street topics, doesn’t mean she has lived or lives the life of the characters she has created, so as to avoid stereotyping of her writing style which crosses all genres.

For booking of founder for interviews, clarification and media, email Disilgold@aol.com or call 1.718.547.0499. For all other requests, write to Heather Covington Publicity, ATT:  Media Management at P.O. BOX 652 Baychester Station, Bronx, NY 20469.
